Driving from Accra to Kintampo
Follow the N6 to Kumasi, then the N10 north through Offinso and Techiman to Kintampo, which sits close to the middle of the country on the route to the north.
Kintampo is a natural overnight stop on the way to Tamale and Mole National Park, and is known for the waterfalls nearby.
Most of the road is single carriageway with heavy truck traffic, so the journey takes longer than the distance suggests.

Tips for the trip
- Break the journey at Kumasi if you are not used to long drives.
- Kintampo is a good place to rest, eat and refuel before continuing north.
- Travel in daylight: night driving on the N10 is risky because of trucks and unlit sections.
